    No surprise WF is closed today. Snow report said they had a wind gust of 111 mph! And the power was out sometime early am but was back on before 9 am.

    Yeah, big wind in the Tri Lakes, NYS Mesonet site in LP shows a wind gust of 76 mph at 5 am! Only 30s and 40s for Gabriels and Tupper sites(so far).

    Would have helped a lot on the Gondi line if they had run the new LWF lift. Mtn run was excellent yesterday but a pita having to use the Gondi to get to it. But amazing conditions this early in the season!

    Wow, the LE machine keeps hitting, Another 3-4 " overnight. Last 2 nights got in 2 excellent full moon(almost) skis in. Only problem is I can't get the deer and coyotes to stop post holing my trails! Don't they know their supposed to wear snowshoes?

    Another factor in the low tide is the downturn in Canadian visitors. Even in Lake Placid this summer and fall the small number of Canadian vehicles was clearly evident.

    I used to run 4 studded snows on dedicated steel rims and dealt w the tpms light on for 5 months but studs only w front wheel drive vehicles.     NY Mesonet todays highs, Lake Placid 89, Gabriels 88, Tupper Lake 88. At least it's been cooling down into the mid 50s the last several nights. Looks like the next few won't go below mid 60s though. Still quite tolerable especially after May and half of June with upper 40s and low 50s with rain...

    And many areas that have blackout days will have Christmas Week blacked out which I have no problem with, but they don't black you out for the whole week following Presidents day weekend. Orda should seriously consider changing that week or at the very least the weekend following Presidents Day...

    Just to nit pick a little, the Temp reading that Saranac Lake likes to take credit for is actually taken at the Adirondack Regional Airport in Lake Clear NY, about 7 miles away.
