The Double Chair Podcast is Live

We got up way early and drove to Placid in a driving rainstorm. The movie about Julie was excellent, really, really worth seeing it if you can. Julie's skiing is inseparable from her struggles in life. It's all there in this short film. Now we're gonna check out that Lisa G's recommendation...

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

While this is true, it has little bearing on maintenance costs ICE vs hybrid.

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

This is true. If Toyota would make a Ford Maverick it would be a done deal. I will say the Mav makes some funny noises I'm not used to, especially in a new car. Yesterday as I was leaving Plattekill... Laz: "hey an American car!" Harv: "yea built in Mexico!"

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

We are on our fifth hybrid. 500,000 miles total, none of them have needed any repairs, or anything beyond oil change and tires. The 2012 got a new battery (small one, for starting the ICE) after 13 years. That's it. Obviously my experience is a very small sample. Still I'll be buying hybrids...

ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

I'm starting to like the Maverick. I have no idea if it will be reliable, but driving it is really fun. 1200 miles, 38 mpg.

Riley and me. Don't know who knows, but @Roman was hurt this past week running, and Riley volunteered to lead the glade clearing. As we gathered, Sean was no where to be found. Laz was giving his safety speech, and Riley walks in saying "I got to get to the top, Harvey you are coming with me!"...

    Building a House with Wood

Doing my research 🚜 🥸. There's a Kubota dealer 25 miles from here, that will service in your garage. It does make some sense, because I'm not finding anyone I trust to plow for me. And I need to move a bunch of dirt. I have some steeper parts or the yard that intimidate me. I may try to get a...

@Tjf1967 totally digging the 29er. The single front chainring is brilliant. It's all you need for gears, it's lighter, and you get way more ground clearance.

    Living in the Mountains

This is my point. Honestly I don't fully understand why North Creek struggles so much. You can say "there are no beds." But I don't buy it. Attempts at beds have come and gone. There has to be more to it. Mind you I love North Creek, I don't mind that it is sleepy.
