I started my season on Sunday at Caberfae Peaks and I can honestly say it was the best opening day snow I have ever skied on. The snow was like skiing in mid January.
Pine Knob, Alpine Valley and Mt Holly have opened up for the season in SE Michigan. I looks like a lot more ski areas will open this weekend. I personally will be going to Caberfae Peaks on Sunday. Looking forward to getting my ski season started.
The Green Mountain area will be to the left of the red mark, The hole in the ground is just where they have been digging the dirt up to build the East Peak.
I went to Boyne Mtn on April 5th and the damage in the Gaylord area was unbelievable. Boyne Mtn did not get nearly as much ice. But the damage was still there

The LIV Michigan golf tournament came to town and it was only a 30min drive for me. Earlier this year I went to the Rocket Mortgage Classic. There is a much different vibe at a LIV event vs a PGA event. But I can’t say one was better than the other. They were both great on their own way.
Being a Midwest skier I can say that having the option of a high detachable lift is nice when things are not very busy and you can get some vertical in on a 300'-500' hill. But on a busy Saturday the line for the highspeed lift can be way to long and the fixed grip is ski on and it makes more...
Boyne Mtn is a big resort and from what i understand is most of the employees are full time. They are also going to host a Mt Bohemia season pass party.
