    Passes for 2020 - 2021

Well check it out and decide for yourself whether you think it’s unusual or not. It seems pretty unusual to me. I don’t wanna break the Internet by going into too much detail.

    Alpine Touring Thread

So who else is planning to earn their turns this season and avoid the Covid crowds? Did you buy new gear? Or do you have AT or Tele gear already? What is your setup and where do you plan to ski? I just bought: - Line Pandora 84 skis - Marker Alpinist 8 bindings - Scarpa Gea Boots - Adjustable...

    Today's Ride

My sister lives in Ferndale, MI. Within 1 mile of the Detroit border. The city has Craftsman style houses packed close together with small yards. Her ring camera keeps catching a big buck (as well as does and fawns) browsing in her backyard! It’s unreal!

    Passes for 2020 - 2021

We just bought uphill season passes for Catamount. It’s just an hour from home, in NY state, and they allow dawn to dusk uphill. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the policy won’t change. I didn’t want to count on the free access at other mountains (Windham/Magic/Stratton/Bromley) because I...

NY Uphill or Alpine Touring Routes

As insurance against the Covid situation, I have decided to invest in Alpine touring gear for the season. Because of the 14 day quarantine requirements in Vermont I am trying to plan out places to do alpine touring in New York. I am open to going to regular resorts/downhill ski mountains that...

    The New Normal

We have not been to a restaurant since March. I do a lot of gardening. I grew dahlias, canna lilies, and zinnias for the first time this year. We play croquet in the yard. I took up tennis. I recently started riding horses again. I can’t complain. We have a comfortable situation to hunker down...

I just bought a set of Line Pandora 84s and Marker Alpinist 8s. Husband bought Black Crows Camox and Salomon Shift bindings. We have a couple friends who are also on board with earning our turns this season. I am looking forward to being super fit this winter! Regarding passes- we will...

    Mount Snow 2-13-20

Mount snow got 4 inches of fresh snow last night and it all fell on top of whatever grooming they did. There was no corduroy in sight this morning. I’m still learning how to ski and fresh snow/ungroomed trails, and today was a great day to practice that. It appears lots of other people at Mount...

    Ski Day Tracking 2019 - 2020

    1) 11-16-19 Mount Snow - First day on new skis. Pretty happy with them. Stuck mostly to greens. 2) 11-17-19 Mount Snow - Variable snow. Fell a lot. Probably fatigued. Lost confidence on blues. Sore Monday. 3) 11-23-19 Okemo- Icy! Skiing better. Still nervous. 4) 11-24-19 Mount Snow- Freezing...
