Who's on the DL?

For those reasons I vote for walking.

The downside to swimming is that it doesn't help at all for bone building. Bone loss after a certain age is not only a problem for women. It happens for men too. That's a reason that a broken hip is a known risk for seniors.
My wife swears by this!

Weight lifting, skiing, roller skiing, running, walking. All weight-bearing exercises. Cycling is good aerobic exercise, but it's not weight-bearing.

Then how come my butt hurts sometimes when I ride?

Whatabout pedaling when yer off the seat?

Just being exposed to gravity gives ya weight.
Thinkabout the astronauts.
Skiing gives ya extra g’s. YMMV.

...Folks completed pretty much a mirror image of the last procedure today with the same team just working on the opposite eye.
Discussed joys of petting dogs with the lady who gave me the massages pre-op, of which she has 2 rescues, Told her I bet yer dogs are spoiled. She laughed. Even got a toe squeeze as she exited.
Hope to be back in the saddle again soon.
Tail is wagging.
Got good early Christmas present today.

Got a good check up by the team with a good to go skiing from the surgeon after he checked both eyes today.
I haven’t skied over The Holidays since I retired. Just figured let the other folks have at it. Should beat last year’s late start when I was a gimp.
The knee got better last year the more I skied, mainly lots of turns.

Thinking of night skiing again to boot, when warranted. It’s gonna be sparkly.
Skiing is fun.

I am 60, still jogging 2.25 miles 3 times a week. It helps keep me sane. I end up dropping down to twice a week during ski season because I lose jogging on Saturdays. The other days of the week are for yoga. Some people think that yoga is easy. There is a yoga teacher at Cornell who is in her 70s and still rocking arm balances and teaching a core and more class. If you haven't tried yoga, I strongly suggest it. It's a good way to stay flexible, strong and challenge yourself.
