Gore Mountain Conditions

The old adage (for most of us), Once you see SNOW in your backyard, the ski season starts must be true for a lot of people. I just peeked at the Base Web cam and both the Gondola and Express were quite busy at 8:30 ! I do not brave the weekend crowds but hope to make a weekday trip next week. Fingers crossed, management decides to keep Bear Cub Quad open weekdays. I hang out there mostly and prefer the trail there to those off Sunway Chair. Remember , I am old and whimpy! Enjoy!
You had mentioned trying the Ski Bowl a while ago. In the past the Village Chair ran 11 am to 8 pm, so you may have to adjust your schedule a bit. But who knows what ORDA has up their sleeves for Ski Bowl now that we have a new lodge…..and portajons!

In a perfect world, I would lap Lower Sunway off Bear Cub Quad. Then break for lunch and head over to Ski Bowl and try Village Slopes for awhile then head home. One hour drive to and 1 hour drive home from Gore. Doable... and thanks for the heads up re: start time of Village Chair. BUT that perfect world never exists. Management seems to favor Sunway Chair over Bear Cub Quad, even though to me those who ski Upper Sunway could do so using Ruby off the Gondola. From a zillion years ago I remember a mid stop off Sunway Chair. Chances BC Cub will be spinning mid week? Low. Changes BC Cub and Village Chair would be running on the same day? Even lower? BUT I do want to check out the new Lodge! I tried driving in last year but got lost in the maze of construction detours. Never even found the proper parking lot. Will the skier lot still be separate from the Lodge lot???
Dumb question.... is there a way I can change by name from Capecodbeach to Old Whimpy Skier? So far I can not find the proper account 'edit' feature?

Snowshed has been open since November 21st, which is earlier than most ski areas opened period, much less beginner terrain, including all 3 in ORDA. Still, Whiteface and Belleayre have done an excellent job so far. I'm less enthused with how Gore is doing, but it is far better than last year.

Doesn’t look too crowded.
Me thinks better management of resources would be better spent blowing on the other facets of Gore than blowing top ridge just to show off the shiny new lift.
