Greek Peak Conditions

How many days did you ski at Greek this year? What are the improvements for this year? Why dont they run their lifts midweek and charge $120? Why do they lie about their vertical drop?
take yer whinin' elsewhere

Ex passholder
So. My 21 visits on a pass that I paid last year for $520 for work out to $24.67 per day. I normally ski for 1.5 to 2 hours. That means that it costs me $16.51 per hour.

This was a low number of visits. I normally plan on hitting my break even point in early January and hit 25 times a year.

Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

This is kind of a place for whinin'. No need to take it elsewhere, it's what we do. 🤠

My three cents:

Day tickets are expensive, even more so than they were pre-covid and pre-Vail. Ski hills want you to buy a pass. Customers don't set pricing, beyond voting with their wallet.

Vert claims... hard to find one in NY that matches up with Google Maps. Seems like the base elevation is the place to fudge.

Generally if you think something is worth what you're paying, you keep buying it. If not, you don't. Seems like that is what's happening with the skiers in this thread. If enough people agree that something is overpriced, prices will drop or the business will go under.

Day tickets? Who buys day tickets. That said, there are plenty of examples of GP offering discounted day tickets. So there's that.

Whining? I've always found it interesting that those who whine like lil bitches about the cost of skiing are also the ones who scream for upgrades. Kinda weird iffin u ask me.

Regarding vert, I've been thinking about adding a Google maps number to the directory:

Not sure if it would be complicated.

I though thats what facebook was for? I come here to get away from that..

Sure theres a lot of (sometimes constructive) criticism of our hills but its typically part of a love/hate relationship and comes with some stoke as well

LOL Facebook.

I feel lucky to ski, even with the cost.

One thing about coming from a turn earning background, for me it makes the high price of snowmaking and building and operating lifts to be relatively reasonable. 20 laps of downhill might be 10 days of skinning.

People are funny about costs. To me the cost of lift-served skiing feels way more reasonable then say ... a diamond ring.

Concert tickets? Is two hours of (your favorite music) more valuable then a season pass?

Maybe another thread... What is the most overpriced thing you ever bought? Houses are expensive, but very useful.
