OpenSnow has upped the Whiteface forecast to 10-18 inches of snow Friday night through Sunday morning. Pure fantasy?

Upper part of the mountain might get that. NOAA forecast calls for 1" - 2" in Lake Placid. Wintry mix on Saturday followed by rain and freezing rain. Rain and freezing rain on Sunday.

Gonna play havoc with the races at the Ho this weekend. Anyone fancy ski prep and racing 40 km classic technique in freezing rain on Sunday?

Ski conditions for national championships are generally epic. Just not in the way we'd like.

Plow went by this morning. Everything is white again. This sucks! LoL

C’mon Camper, ya live near The Crown City, the highest in NYS & it’s March.

Mountain Forecast is showing nothing but frz rain/rain through the whole weekend. Lots of moisture, but warm air has the upper hand.

When Open Snow and Mountain Forecast are on the same page it usually works out well. Not the case at the moment!

Looks like that means Cape Cod this weekend. Surf forecast is a bit all over the place.

Stowe, Craftsbury, and Jay in VT all getting a couple inches of snow on Saturday. Craftsbury has hung them up fr the season. Trapp Family Lodge hopes to reopen this weekend. Rain on Sunday. Ugh.

Open Snow now up to 12-24 in the Whiteface Forecast, and Mountain Forecast has backed off rain for Fri pm to Sun am and is showing 11 inches of snow for Whiteface. Looks like generally light rain after that until Monday afternoon.

If all that came true it might be a pretty good weekend at Whiteface??

Snow moves into New England on Friday night but will transition over to sleet and freezing rain across southern and central regions by Saturday morning. Snowfall accumulations of ~6–8"+ are expected across the northern Greens and Whites at elevation by Saturday night. Most of New England goes over to rain by Sunday and Monday.
