Too bad..........wasn't bad yesterday although I didn't free ski much due the Beer League final. Wind is worse than rain as it sucks the moisture out of the snow. Yes, I hope there's a big March storm so we have something to ski when we get back.

Yesterday’s conditions were a reminder of how great of a season we are having comparatively. I highly doubt they will make any more snow to freshen up the surface, much more expensive to do so in March. Once we are back in a normal freeze / thaw cycle I think we’ll be fine. Lots of snow on the mountain.

March Madness pass is back, I don’t think Bristol offered that last year. Wondering if they’ll ever do a March + next year seasons pass deal. Greek has a pretty good deal with that.

Yeah yesterday Sat 3/1 was such a stark contrast to the previous Saturday which was spectacular.

But I'm serious when I say I've never skied in worse conditions than yesterday. The grooming had ruts and lots of frozen debris. It didn't' help that it was getting colder during the morning and things that may have been soft earlier were freezing into long ruts from previous skier turns and debris. It would have been easy to get knocked off by a rut. The snow was so loud. Meteor was just ice. My one buddy that is expert level described it as "holding on for dear life." Our final run, Southern Cross to Sunset was the best of the day.

One of my buddies went in after 2 runs. Bristol used to have a 30 or 45 minute refund guarantee. He went to try and get his pass nulled but they said they don't do that anymore.

I hope you're right that it will improve and they can finish strong. I still have 2 of 6 passes left. Ideally I'd love to finish my season there in April on a beautiful Saturday or Sunday.

OK, here I am, Charlie A. Sunday, March 2 was flat out cold and the conditions were somewhat icy, but not undoable. After the early bird "groomers only" crowd left there was absolutely no lines, just the Brigade kids and their coaches. The grooming had improved from Saturday and most of the ruts from Saturday had been smoothed over. If you know how to find the "chop" on a very firm day you were fine. As usual, the best snow was up on Milky Way, Nova, and Morning Star. My wife and laid smooth tracks as did the young snowboarder in pink who is there nearly everyday and the best carver I've ever witnessed. Still plenty of snow and today looks to be promising as it is going up into the twenties and low thirties.

Today, Monday was as one chair rider said, "near hero snow" conditions. with temps in the mid-twenties the late winter sun was glistening on the groomed runs as about 200 or so skiers lined up for the opening bell. Comet, Rocket, Meteor, and Galaxy were all soft on top and solid underfoot and fast. But, Northstar was sublime with only three skiers who had gone top to bottom. I hit the bottom headwall in the tuck and made it to within 20 feet of the Galaxy connector., should have waxed my skis last night! Of course, the backside was soft and beautiful with Milky Way a carvers delight. And as I took my last run the Crawler was nearly full. Get down there if you can.
