Gore Mountain Conditions

Pretty sure many CT schools had off. Mohawk had plenty of kids and families visible, but the trails were relatively empty.
Since the holiday will be a floater and not a set date or Monday holiday it probably never will be a big family ski vacation holiday. But for some of the small LOCAL mountains it could be a $$$ bonus... once they can plan ahead. I would think mountains like West & Willard will welcome the revenue. I have zero understanding of the date range it could fall on ??? Time to do a Google search or ask Alexa, or ask Siri.

Conditions amazing. Powder, packed powder, some glades as well.

Huge crowd, parked all the way down the access road, and without North Quad, more people than usual trapped at bottom.

One cash register in saddle. Crazy parking as usual.

Snowmaking so much more organized with teams walking trails checking and moving equipment. Seems like the rumor that folks were organized and brought here from the other venues is likely true, and it shows.

The natural snow has helped tremendously as well.

Never understood parking that far down, crazy!

Agree good conditions today and busy too. Lots of good runs but ROTDs in no particular order were chatty glades, upper steilhang, the dark side woods and liftline, darby woods, tahawus glades (the pick) straightbrook liftline from hawkeye. Not ROTD but still good were topridge, open pit early, lower darby, and barkeater. Not good was 46er by the time I got to it. Sheet of ice even trying to hug the fresh on the side.

It was evident in the conditions and around the mountain where snowmaking was happening they brought in resources. Lots of snowmakers attending to guns. Rumor and lies getting buried. Sagamore lit top to bottom. Much of wild air lit up too to finish it off. They definitely are making a great effort to try and catch up from the abysmal start.

A very enjoyable Gore day.

Open and legal Although the second picture did not look like that 2 hours later and was closed shortly thereafter. we are skiing nicely and the snowmaking is operating nicely. Hey it only took until Feb 1...with a little help from our Belle friends. Thank You!

There were significant lift problems today. North was down all day and never opened. There were several mechanics working at the top of it, but the report says it will be closed all day tomorrow. Normally it's a lift I don't really care about, but I would've likely ridden it today if it were open as long as the natural trails were open.

When I first got to Straightbrook shorly after 9, it was operating normally, but after just one run it was back to every other chair.

The gondola also broke down at around 2 and had to be unloaded and closed. It reopened around 2:45.

I spent a lot of time at Burnt Ridge and the Ski Bowl, but I got a few Upper mountain laps, on Topridge, Uncas, and Chatiemac in the morning, and Hullabaloo, Darby Woods, and Hawkeye in the afternoon. When the gondola was closed I decided to lap the Sunway chair instead of waiting 20+ minutes for the AE2. During that timeframe, I took advantage of the powder stashes on Ward Hill, Little Dipper, and Twin Fawns.

I enjoyed my glade runs today. Ended up doing 7 of them. Barkeater was open in full and I did it twice. Also did JJ's twice, and 1 each on Ski Bowl Glades, Otter Slide Glades, and Darby Woods.

The worst trails were Uncas, 46er, Echo, and Hullabaloo, all due to icy conditions.

Run count is as follows:

8 Hudson
5 Burnt Ridge
4 Sunway
3 High Peaks
3 Topridge
2 Gondola
2 AE2
1 Straightbrook
