Gore Mountain Conditions

Gore's snowmaking system is state of the art and unlimited in their water supply with it's enlargered reservoir and The Hudson River supply. This is just mis-management on orda and gore. gore mgmt knew they were losing the brains of the mountain ops last season and no effort was made to replace. Yeah the guy that retired, Howie, who knew all of the Mt Ops and was way more qualified to be the Area 1 when the job became available when MP went to be orda 1. But instead the gave the gave the job to our current Area 1, because even though he 000 experience in ever being a Mountain Manager, maybe he had guided Cuomo down the Hudson River in a made for TV event of the Adirondack Challenge arranged by Cuomo to look good...

I'm thinking we literally got boned...


And it should be noted that Howie was not necessarily ready to leave but the powers above though it was his time...

Yeah whatever...suck it up buttercup, it's our year this year. It will get better. Ski Belle this year they seem to have their ahit together and they are getting the snow...or go to Plattekill!

Hopefully someone can give an update on the lower mountain snowmaking... I am trying to decide between Gore or WFace on Thursday. I do not always find the newly made snow easy to ski on, even groomed. Thin and slippery in one spot, then sticky and flour like in another spot. That said I am glad the decision was made to touch up the lower mountain snow. Maybe even cover and make skiable the cut over to Lower Sunway below Sunway Chair? Enjoy the warmer temps!

I'm going to WF again this weekend and incurring the extra drive and expense. Not worth it for what little is open at Gore.

Was gonna fork over 70 bucks for a lift ticket today but when I asked about the 70 and over SKI3 season pass for 24-25 she said I qualified even though birthday is later on this year. Ya get a buddy pass and another 1/2 price one to boot all for $269. That’s less than a lift ticket at some places. Thank you Gore.

With this years reports it looks like it mighn’t be such a good “deal”.
I can still get my money$ worth lapping Tahawus in late season (if there is a late season) after the CNY bumps close and/or heading over to Belle.
Don’t wanna ding my skis again at Gore.

I feel like the same people that are imploring Gore to address the snowmaking situation are often the same ones apologizing to the Gore first timers on the lifts for the horrendous state of affairs.....we're imploring them its not always like this and they should give Gore another shot next season.

We may be complaining, but we're also out there trying to defend our mountain's rep--true loyalists. C'mon Gore....we can't cover for you forever

I've given up trying to defend it and just ski. We are the chosen resort this year and Mother Nature will reward us eventually March? April? I think I will try the ski bowl tomorrow

Hopefully Gore will get the snowmaking going. The USSA Masters National Championship races will be held there March 18-22. I'm not going, but have friends who will be there.
