Belleayre Conditions

Open to 1 today. That has been the usual weekend warrior hours this season. Parked at lot E for the easy bathroom access and started on the Hawk. It was fairly firm and windy on the north side so we made our way across the ridge slowly. A dusting of natural snow was nice for the first couple of runs but wind was pushing things around. Onondaga stacked up a lot of really nice man made snow without the guns in your face so we stuck to that for awhile. Crowds were heavy the two times we went all the way down to the gondola but manageable on the hill.

To 1 to deal with crowds correct? Bounced between hawk, old 7 and belle express?

I tend to do half days unless its spring or a powder day. Skied off groomers and flat light on a cold January afternoon doesn't exactly do it for me. Mostly stuck to Belleayre Express, it was too windy and cold for multiples on Hawk and Overlook Quad IMO.

Anyone with a report from today?

All snow making terrain open. Some odd grooming choices. The top half of the mountain was completely stocked in after 1 or 2. I don't love lower Cathedral being a groomed snow making trail, but it is probably the most interesting trail on the Mt and it was skiing wonderfully today. Guns were firing all day on Belleayre run (made riding Super chief pretty rough) and Deer Run.

A dusting of fresh snow softened things up. A little windy and cool.

Super sweet 2/3 ski day today with FRK - lapping express and gondi. Blown powder with just enough sketch to keep you on your toes. Great job Belle!

Great runs: winnisook bumps, Mohawk, skier left of Mohawk I forget the trail, Seneca.

Fair share of bumps. Nice weather. Ski on. 18,000 vertical - my running watch tracks it.

Skiing is always fun. Skiing with a buddy is even more fun- thanks FRK.

Now to Barbie to see my daughter in a play!
