Belleayre Conditions

She is shooting up! Hosting 9 young ladies for my daughter's 11th birthday party. Time flies.
That's a lot of tween girls in one place! Good luck!

My daughter had moved to small sleepover parties by that age.

So… word on the street is that someone f’d up the Discovery lodge renovation and work has been halted.

It’s going to be a real cluster when it gets busy. No food service. No tap beer. Rentals are limited. Parking lot has a bunch of construction crap in it.

The beginner pit is still steep and short AF straight into a wall and not open.

New Thunderhawk learning area at the summit is pretty cool. It opened up nice views of Slide, Balsam, Graham and Doubletop.

It has a subtle double fall line at first, sending people toward the tube, but mellows out at the middle. There’s a net at the bottom to catch runaways from skiing into the woods which apparently is already serving its purpose. Maybe a big quarter pipe at the bottom would be better.

No $15 Devils Path IPA on tap, but other than that, no complaints. Still lots of untracked scratchy pow out there to be had.

Belleayre was getting too popular and ORDA came up with a plan to dial back the crowds. No worries, they will just find another company to finish the job. Who cares when it will be done and how much it will cost.

Any word from ORDA CEO Ashley Warden?

It's a bonded job, so it will go regardless if any subs or the gc went belly up. I remember hearing the winning bidder for the gc contract was pretty low and that was due to them not having a bond or something? It will just take some time. As I wrote this post, I just received word that the surety company has in fact taken over the project.

Wow. And that is why we have sureties (and insurance products).

Pardon the thread drift. The low bidder was pretty low for that range IMO. The bid tabulation says they had a (edit: BID) bond.
