Thanks for passing the article along. Disappointing. To me, events like the Nordic Combined are what I consider to be quintessential Winter Olympics events.

Nordic skiing is part of what defines all of sliding on snow.

Agree, Camp. Alpine skiing didn't become an Olympic sport until 1936. Maybe if the IOC added women's nordic combined to the OWG instead of being sexist a-holes we'd see "variety " in the results lists.

Now, the US nordic combined program loses funding. This is especially appalling as USA Nordic was set up to support nordic combined and jumping after these sports were disowned by US Ski & Snowboard.

This is being felt locally in the Tri-Lakes. Kai McKinnon competed yesterday in the Star Spangled Ski Jumps.

They probably figured they had to ditch Nordic combined to make more TV time for all the figure skating that happens after the medals ceremony.

That makes perfect sense.
