Hellgate was beautiful for the first half of yesterday. After lunch it was scraped down enough that I only skied it once and then stuck to the lower mountain - which remained real nice.
Belt opened towards end of day, but I missed it as was just skiing off Broadway Express then
They were...
Anyone got an idea whether Belt will be open tomorrow? Trying to decide between Hunter and Belleayre and if only one open run conditions will deteriorate faster.
Or consider powered skis

Probably a more affordable and easier to implement approach if not many people will be using the hill
Had a real fine time at Hunter yesterday. Skied right on to the Flyer for each of the 9 runs I took before Day 1 legs said “Enough!”. Pretty wall to wall soft but not too soft coverage on Hellgate on down.
No signs of any snowmaking elsewhere on the mountain so it is safe to say this run will...
Yeah Belle pretty much doubled what they announced would be open - nice surprise
But with both an Epic Local and Indy+ pass I plan to ski on my passes when it is an option
Psyched that Hunter will open tomorrow. Had been planning to head to Belleayre, but longer and overall steeper runs (except the Seneca headwall) at a place I have a pass is welcome news for this currently unemployed skier.
North side announced as closing at 330 on opening day (tomorrow) having me optimistic for Belt Parkway and Way Out (reportedly now with automated snowmaking) being open in addition to Hellgate on down.
How bad will the lines be?
Last season I believe they opened TTB with Gondola as well as Hawk open, but conditions were pretty slushy on the bottom part. Certainly easier to get better conditions at higher altitude is probably more the issue than wanting to open harder terrain
Nice job Belleayre! Figured I was not going to ski til Nov 30 as not worth driving 12 hr r/t for 600 feet of vertical on 2 runs plus a hike.
ORDA comes through with 900 feet of vertical on 2 runs with no walk only half the distance away. Making it worth going “off pass” for a longer Skison...
Seriously considering Sunday - would be ending my Skison where I started it on the last weekend of November - in each case skiing off pass before/after the Hunter Skison
Any basis for comment I read on Facebook speculating about $25 tix for pass holders of other mountains?
