Biggest sporting event in the sate of Mississippi is coming to Oxford when we host the Greenwave in the 1st round of the CFP.

The previous biggest mighta been when The Rebels beat Notre Dame in Jackson. Afterwards The Irish brought up 3rd string Joe Montana & went on to win the natty. The rest is history.

I went to that game after first setting foot behind The Magnolia Curtain.
Twas hotter than hell and just after Elvis had passed.

@tirolski I'm stoked that you're stoked about the playoffs. I think everyone is a long suffering fan of some team, so I enjoy the optimism. Unless it's a Patriots fan.

Thanks DBC. Hotty Toddy.
Was optimistic about Cuse this season then Peanutbutter Angeli went down.
It can be a brutal sport in that regard. Kinda like skiing.

Some say football is the greatest TEAM sport.
A pack of beagles running rabbits might disagree.

Unless it's a Patriots fan.
Never.

I gotta kick outta in the clip where Trinidad said, "The town, Oxford."
It’s formally a city, but was surprised at that fact when I first arrived.

Oxford then had <15K citizens & a similar number of students when undergrad skools were in session.
Summers were fun playing softball and chillaxin with the locals without most all of the undergrads around.
City of Oxford had and has great softball facilities for the folks. We used to roadtrip to play tournaments in other places in North Mississippi. Playing softball and being on a balloon chase crew made for fun times in the summertime.

Once ya settle into the pace of place behind The Magnolia Curtain, it makes sense.
As does Island Time.

Sure I’m stoked for Ole Miss. Always will be win or lose.
When I was there my dang hippy friends, in the 1st back and white pic in this article, protested in The Grove because parking of cars & trucks in The Grove on game days, especially if there was a thunderstorm, was bad for the trees. Mud Hole City. I had been a grunt for our tree service in The UpState. It was a worthy cause. The rest is history and the state now has a Magnolia tree flower on it’s flag. They smell great.

The Ole Miss Chancellor is from The Glen at the south end of Seneca & the SEC commissioner is from Auburn NY at the north end of Owasco.

Hotty Toddy.
