It's definitely not the boots. After looking at the xray I'm surprised it doesn't hurt more.
Look I shouldn't have posted last night. I was emotional.
It's time to man up. Look what RA did. He fucking re-invented himself.
I have to imagine a new future. I love nordic skiing so much, and maybe that is coming to an end. If it isn't obvious I also love story telling. I've got to find something to write about that I love.
Harv, if I may (and perhaps it helps I am coming off a broken shoulder), please:
(i) be kind to yourself and let yourself have these emotions - frankly it would be somewhat abnormal if you did not (whatever normal is anyway).
(ii) don't borrow too much emotional pain from the future (as is also probably normal, you may be thinking about worst case right now); you might be thinking beyond the practical worst case.
(iii) take a minute to think about all the awesome things you have in your life, wife, daughter, winter and summer wonderland (and yes, it is fine to be ticked off about the tough stuff);
(iv) google and apply to yourself the mental exercise of premeditatio malorum. Worse case thinking can actually help!
(v) if you can, keep in mind there are lots of easy, low cost (energy/recovery/dollars) options, too. I am a pretty rational dude, and don't believe in voodoo or anything like that, but very clean eating reduces inflammation which I would expect at least can't make things worse for you. Check out the talking with docs youtube channel - they focus on normal life habits that can help with things like bone density, reducing inflammation, how inflammation is tied to many health conditions and how reducing can help healthspan.
(vi) know you have a ton of ppl pulling for you.
