F Vail

Is this an ancillary attachment?
There is a similar type of tax in Big Sky. Since Montana does not have a state wide sales tax, there is a 3% local resort tax in place for that area. Most of it goes toward the sewage treatment facility. Interestingly, Big Sky is not an incorporated town but rather a collection of HOAs and the resort that operate like one.

I don't know the specifics of the case, but if the resort fails to follow standard safety procedures, or is lax in upkeep and maintenance they should be eligible to be sued. If I ski into a tree however that's on me - Though I can see how there are shades of grey of opening trails that shouldn't be.
How bout if yer injured from a snowmobile at Breck and then go buy another EPIC thingy🍺 ?

Meanwhile the stock is back down to about where twas before it got the return of Katz bump.
And the west now could use some snow to boot.
Hope, for skiers and boarders sake, they get some...

37 inches at Snowbowl this week. They had a soft opening today at noon. Official opening is tomorrow morning.

Copied and pasted from FB's Ski the Northeast group. Dude with a pseudonym alleging that Vail is shadow banning people. Unverified.

"Be careful what you post about Vail resorts. I was wondering why I wasn't getting updates for my local resort and I can't seem to find the group that I belong to friends and family of the local resort. It turns out that Vail resorts is Shadow banning people on their web pages and they're going after private and public groups that are critical of the resorts. Anything I ever complained about was 100% factual. I backed it up with pictures or videos, including them over serving people at bars to the point where people could barely hold on to the bar and throwing up in the hallways and bathrooms. If this is their tactic to try to improve their past sales, it's pathetic. I literally live 5 minutes away from my local Vail resort. They'll advertise. They're making snow, snow, glorious pictures online of a snow gun and then I go up there and show that there's literally only one snow gun going. Val likes to advertise that they pay their people a minimum of $20 an hour. What they don't tell people is that they'll send you home after a couple hours or they won't call you in for days. If not weeks. They do everything in their power to keep their operating cost as low as possible so that their profit margins are as high as possible. A lot of their challenges have already been well documented and well-read publications. What isn't documented is what I'm discussing now. They manipulate employees. They manipulate social media and media. They at best bend the truth about their operating models and then continue to mislead investors. One of the biggest challenges of a giant corporation taking over a ski resort is the fact that they do not care about the end product. All they care about are the ticket sales and revenue and they will do anything in their power to increase that year over year quarter over quarter to boost the stock price. They will push every single boundary they possibly can. Even skirting laws. I really hope something changes but I really doubt it will."

Not surprising. Vail does not like to spend money on snowmaking. Stu interviewed Rob Katz and the Hunter GM this year and it didn’t take much reading between the lines to figure that out. Cutting employees’ hours to the minimum is part of the same strategy

Oh great a Lululemon exec... What parity to skiing!

I'm sure just like the spandex she used to peddle she's gonna find ways to squeeze more money out of Fail customers.

LuLu-lemon’s stock has been tanking similar to Fail’s. It’s a big club. Execs gotta exec. Tis why folks invented gold parachutes.

At this point CEOs get paid so much the parachutes are basically not really needed - not that boards will ever get rid of parachutes. Pay a fortune to CEOs and then when they suck pay them to leave. Best job in the world.
