Gore Mountain Conditions

Good news, NWS has changed Friday to 40% chance of rain, down from 70% for Friday.

Because if you have a gondola you gotta run it even when it makes no sense.
Ruby probably has great snow now by facing north and it’s elevation. The views going around the corner were always amazing on a clear day. By making folks run Ruby first it should spread them out & it’s a good warm up run unless the wind howls ya too much. Shouldn’t have to worry about the windchill in Snovember. It’s a strange trail though. I wondered who got the red gems💎 when they blasted it.
You must be a NYSEF coach.
Nah. Skied Gore when I first retired as a weekday skier who had some GS skis that liked to run. Echo was loads of fun to run when nobody's around. Was trying to get in shape for a trip to Tirol.

Hardly ever skied Gore on a weekend unless twas late season and the monopoly bumps were all done playing.

I am more than a little confused with the snowmaking at the Base Lodge? We have had a number of cold nights so I expected to see some piles? It was posted Showcase might be open to allow skiing to the base of Gondola. Is there enough snow there? I actually see more snow being made near Sunway chair than at the base of Showcase. I am nowhere near a good enough skier for Opening Day runs, but after seeing the Saturday lines at Whiteface (in photos) I wonder if people will be disappointed this weekend?

Stick around long enough and Gore will find many creative ways to disappoint you!

Peeked at the base webcam this morning... much more snow being made. Plus they were moving snow into the loading area of the Express. No chairs yet, but there was definitely activity. Will they need to do a load test with chairs before it could be used? Also the heavy duty snow guns by Sunway Chair and Express were blasting away. Local forecast for Friday has really changed a lot in the past two day... % rain keeps dropping. You wonder if that and the much lower overnight temps prompted the increased activity?
