Ski Bowl 3.0 at Gore

I'm really looking forward to it. I approach from the West so I hope I might have a slight advantage in the parking joust which has gotten red hot on busy weekends. Gore has been making so many improvements. I love seeing it in real time. Keep it up Gore Mountain Management team and Governor Hochul.
Holy shit dude, you must love the kool-aid! ;) :ROFLMAO:

Been seeing it with my own two eyes over the past twenty years. Cant deny where the mountain is compared to twenty years ago. No Kool Aide for me dude. We enjoy it every Winter
It's not that there hasn't been improvements or that we don't enjoy the mountain. It's just that some of us think that Ski Bowl has become a costly low elevation white elephant that will be open only a few weeks, and that $30 million could have been better spent on the part of that mountain that is open every day. It could have been a high speed replacement for Topridge, or enough payroll to keep snowmaking going every possible day, or opting out of the electric load reduction programs that stopped snowmaking, or even payroll for patrollers to open more terrain on week days. But we'll get a zippy thingy, so we got that going for us.

mm

If someone offered you 60k to put an in ground swimming pool at your house but that's all you could use the money on you would have an in ground swimming pool.

PS for those of use exercising the right to vote, there was a ballot initiative about adding 1,000 plus acres to preserve (amending the state constitution no less) to add to skiing. I presume it is Gore (said Essex county). I voted yes haha.

Gotta vote yes on that one. (It’s Mount Van Hovenburg, I think)

The proposition was to make legal the already constructed cross country trails at Mt Van Hovenburg, which were constructed without proper approval. In exchange ORDA is going to acquire 2500 acres of land within the park and add it to the forever wild clause. They did a poor job letting people know what the prop really was, the vote was very close for something that had no real opposition from any group.

"The NY State legislature has passed a bill identifying the scope of allowable and prohibited use of the land addressed by Proposal 1."

"Examples of prohibited use include: the addition of any hotels, resorts, or commercial development, zip lines, tennis courts, public off-road vehicles, and commercial uses above 2,200 feet in elevation."

emphasis added.

Does ORDA’s currently planned zippycoasterthingy 🍺in the town's Ski Bowl Park get in under the wire?

The zip coaster is on town property so not affected by any state regulation.
