Going Under the Knife

If you could ski, what runs in NY would you hit this year? Maybe some of us could record some of your favorite runs this year? I know watching someone else ski can be boring, but I'd totally gopro some WF, Gore , or Bell runs for ya. Definitely others here that really get the goods.
That's very kind of you AJ .

Anything at Gore especially the upper, and North and Bear mtn sides .

WF used to hit LWF and stuff off Upper Valley

Boy just when you thinking got good news life throws you another curve ball.

This was not a good week. First I had a 7-hour afib incident which ultimately resolved itself without going to the ER .

Then the next day I was stung by a bee which being highly neutropenic your immunity is absolutely crashed to the floor.

That is dangerous so that was another ER visit.

Then last night my immunity crashed again and the blood work to the point where I may have to go back to the University of Vermont even though the most critical dimension is still within tolerance. The reason is they don't know if my immunity is crashing from that drug or whether or not my bone marrow has taken a serious turn for the worst.

So I'm going to have to take labs every other week now and if it fails to improve or gets even worse I'm going to have to go back to UVM for a bone marrow biopsy.

With this Waldenstrom's Macroglobulemia cancer that I have immunity is a serious concern . Last yrs Biopsy my bone marrow was 60 % cancer cells .

So if this doesn't improve by Halloween I'll go back for another bone marrow biopsy and see if that percentage has either increased or decreased.

They want to make damn sure that the most critical dimension drug is causing this immunity crash versus an increase in the number of cancer cells in my bone marrow

Mentally it is chaos cuz there is damn little you can do to help yourself .

In the meantime I think they will give me a super immunity boosting shots and have put me on 2 more drugs to prevent both infections and anti fungal issues . It's a good news bad news drug bcuz it could damage the aneurysm I have or cause more serious AFib .so here we are .

I remain mostly positive but at times of momentary reflection I simply am worried .

It's in God's hands

hang in there Warp!

Keep swinging Warp.
Unfortunately cannot play now bcuz of possible really scary side effects on my heart with afib and possible issues affecting my aneurysm and other related tendon issues 😢

So I'm just taking walks and playing my guitar

as soon As I know that I'm handling the 2 new drugs started yesterday , then hopefully might be cleared for take off

Good luck you'll get through this bump. In the meantime I just stumbled across this kid on YT doing some incredible things with an acoustic guitar. As a guitar player you might enjoy. Always puts a smile on my face when a young teen appreciates music from 40+ years ago.

Talented kid 👏

Well things have taken a turn for the worse .

Those two anti bacterial anti fungal drugs given bcuz of very low immunity have beat the hell out of my tendons ( Achilles calves and thighs) .

i haven't been able to trail walk for 5 weeks . I used to trail walk now I can only do 3 or 4 blocks and it beats hell out of me bcauz sitting around has also caused wicked back and hip aches . My stamina is just toast now .

I'm going to have to go to UVM early in November for a bone marrow biopsy to see if cancer cells have increased and may need an plasma phoresis ( oil change) . They have not given me any immunity boosting shots bcuz they need to determine if the maintenance drug is causing it which is sometimes the case OR if the % of cancer cells in my bone marrow has increased over a year .

I'm tired : the aches in back groin and legs is sometimes really nasty . I try an get up once an hr and just move around to try and relieve it and my shiatsu massage chair helps .

Hopefully this can be resolved at UVM and necessary treatment modality changes can occur .I'm still positive and make FaceTime and calls to to friends and family . I'm doing the best i can but this is a big change from my active lifestyle.

It's in God's Hands
