Took a walk on the biathlon side yesterday. Even though Mt van Ho has a new, state of the art biathlon range, it's kinda sad to see the old one demolished.

Maybe @Ripitz can identify this:

Some new singletrack:

Streams are really low.

Last and not least, don't be this person. I carried this out.

Nice find, Peter. Looks like a Blue Gentian, a beautiful late blooming NY native that never opens. There are three species most common to the ADKs, Narrow Leaved Gentian / Gentianna Linearis, Closed Bottle Gentian / Gentiana andrewsii and Blind Gentian / Gentian clausea. I’m not familiar enough to distinguish between them, so I couldn’t tell you which one that is.

My first discovery was this time of year in the alpine zone of Wright Peak.

Need to gondola up to get to the hikes start
3miles about 500vert
At the end lunch at a Refugio. Lunch was 45$ including the beer. The best we can do in the us is chicken fingers and a shit burger for twice the amount

Sir, are you posting a full blown TR at some point? Would be interested in your logistics and destinations. Looks like you are staying in valleys and going up, which looks cool.

Lots of things I love about America. Mass food and too expensive wine out are NOT among those things (and I don't really drink!). We got an award winning bottle of wine in South Africa for like $13. You can get ok wine for $4 per bottle (there of course).
