Whiteface Conditions

So they only offer the local pass with blackout dates and then they give the mountain to a mega pass with no blackout dates? That’s wild.
The MC pass makes sense for a very different market than Epic and Ikon. I would guess the percentage of intermediates or families who use the MC is much smaller. The only resorts that require reservations are Jackson Hole, Aspen/Snowmass, Big Sky. Presumably then they can limit the number of MC users during busy holiday periods, if needed.

Even before Ikon, the number of visits based on the MC pass to Alta, JH, Taos were not that big as a percentage of total visits. I know the first year Taos was going to be happy if they got 5000 visits during the entire season. When Ikon came on the scene, essentially all the MC resorts were also on Ikon. It's only in the last few years that a few resorts are only on the MC pass. Grand Targhee likes the MC and has no intention of ever joining Ikon. Based on Stuart's interview, that's because the numbers would be higher with Ikon.

Most MC holders who I know have zero interest in skiing on blackout dates.

Isn't 59 dollars a bone?
Looks to be a 59 buck add on for an UpHill season pass If ya already have a season pass. Otherwise it was $129 for the season without a WF season pass & $25 per day without a season pass. Gets ya a couple hours before lifts open on only Wed, Fri, Sat,& Sun (nonHoliday). Only can park in one lot & only allowed into one lodge. Gotta check in daily.
There are many different kinds of bones.

Nice job ORDA, way to look out for the locals.

They offer a discounted uphill pass to appease them. From 6-8:30am Wed, Fri and Sat, not including the blackout dates, starting Jan 3, for $59 instead of $129. What a deal.

Windham’s uphill pass is $60 and is good every day, even during operating hours and as long as there is daylight.

Platty, free for passholders on closed terrain.

Belleayre, free midweek for passholders.

Hunter, free to anyone before opening.

Catamount, $50 full season and free for passholders, starting at 6:30am, during day and night operating hours.

Mohawk, free to anyone during day and night operating hours.
And many areas that have blackout days will have Christmas Week blacked out which I have no problem with, but they don't black you out for the whole week following Presidents day weekend. Orda should seriously consider changing that week or at the very least the weekend following Presidents Day weekend.
