Here is your Friday update for Bristol Mountain. The first few runs were easy with about a half inch of fluff on top of the groom. But soon became chopped up into as one person on the chair said “margarita crushed ice snow.” It will be tough on the wax on your skis and your edges, but it’s still a lot of fun. The moguls are pock marked and cross hatched, refrozen and icy and just about impossible. But, people are smiling, and the sun is fighting through. All in all, a great late winter ski day.

The conditions at Bristol can be described in one word, sticky. About 2 inches of powder on top of a very firm base, some might caught icy, but it’s not really. You have to stay on your edges or the sticky snow will catch you but the sun is out. Things are softening up

Spring is here! It took but half an hour at most for the Galaxy chair runs to get kicked up into pretty good chop as did Rocket on the sides. The moguls are non-existent as the grass and rocks are coming through under the Galaxy chair. Comet held up very well and was really fun. The backside Morning Star chair runs were really firm and begged for edge to edge carving. Nice buzz today as it seemed every little kid lessons group was on the mountain. Weather report for the week is not favorable- 60's and possible 70's! Night skiing is over.

Yes, it’s gonna be warm all week, but I’m sure we will be skiing this weekend. I took today off but plan on heading there tomorrow and I’ll write about it. Spring skiing can be a blast. That’s for sure.
