Who skis Willard?

Ha, I saw that place much more in summer when I lived in Saratoga. A great bike ride was to do a loop from the Battlefield nat park across the river, climb up to that road, and back to the battlefield. Whenever conditions were good, I'd hit Gore.
 
I had a great little powder evening there just before Christmas 2020. We got something like 2 feet of snow and I was able to get up there before the inevitable rain and thaw that followed. Great little place. My nephew has a ski race or two there in the next few weeks and I'll do my best to take some runs if we can go up to watch.
 
It's a great little feeder mountain, basically every kid in the Capital District goes there for ski club. The lodge is old school with an awesome fire pit. Their race team is legit, they produce state and eastern champions and generally kick the VT teams butts.
 
Well, I hope this wonderful little area keeps up. I got my first lessons from Dave V there in 1959, taught there in 1975 before i went to Glen Ellen. That was some year for the mountain, Scott Light won the Eastern Cup, and Bruce Bolesky won everything in the freestyle world....fun little hill... I hope to make it back there.
