Catamount Conditions

Only ticket I could find for today. It was decent. Not many trails open. But others were skiable.

Was a good day at catamount despite a few core shots for the adventurous. The snow had that perfect fluff factor. The main run down got pretty beat up by early afternoon. ALot of folks showed up but didn't seem too crowded. I'm pretty impressed with the money invested into the place. A new lift is laying in the parking lot.

Was there this morning. Pulled into lot around 8:20 a.m. Had to wait in line to get a replacement RFID card for youngest daughter.

Only about 50% of the trails open. We got almost 14 inches in Pok for the storm so I was expecting more. Looks like they got less than a foot. A lot of rocks . . . and more rocks. We left right after noon. There were people still in line to get their tickets.

It was a good warm-up to the season . . . showed me how weak my legs are. That's what I get for not doing leg day all summer.

Going to Catamount tomorrow. Website shows about half their terrain including all steeps and glades are closed. Has anyone had eyes on it lately?

Reached out to Rich:

Hello Harvey, I trust all is well.

Catapult is open today. Ripper is closed today. Both need grooming after a busy weekend. Snowmaking resumes on Catapult this afternoon. I am not sure if either will be open Wednesday.

Birch Glade is not open today because we are making snow on trails that access the glades. That will be back open tomorrow with 3" of today's snow (and still snowing).

We made snow last night on Marty's, Shawenon, Ridge Run, Mountain View and Colonel's Caper.. We will make snow on several more trails in NY and MA tonight and throughout the week.

We are getting ready for a busy holiday week when we try not to make snow.

Hope to see you soon!
