It's firm but carveable I think that's a good sign it did not go to freezing but it was pretty close to freezing right before opening so they just groomed a bunch of stuff

things could start happening fast
Now is the time for haste
I have never been more right… and I have never seen things deteriorate so quickly. We are holding out hope for some snow later in the week but I fear tomorrow’s mountain rental might be it.

It’s a shame about the warmer temps and the rain, as Friday was really nice. Here’s a few more photos after switching boards. Around 1:15pm I made the decision to drive over to Windham and get a few laps in on my pass. I needed to check the house and swap out a board anyway. Turned out to be a great decision. As good as Plattekill was (and you can’t beat the vibe), there was a lot more snow and open terrain at Windham. I’ll post some photos over in the Windham conditions thread. Thanks again to @Brownski for the motivation to hit Plattekill first.

176 Gentemstick Super Fish. Works great in deep stuff and packed powder groomers. This was the first spring variable corn snow test session. Worked really well but almost too fast! I started the day off on a 154 K2 Instrument which was more suited for the conditions. Also ended the day at Windham on the K2 where it excelled. Super Fish was really fun though. Looking forward to a powder day at Plattekill with it.
