Finally, my first non-storm day at Winter Park. Because Parsenn Bowl had been closed since Monday, I headed straight for the Panoramic chair. It was cold and windy up top at 12,000 feet: 0 degrees and -13 wind chill. When we got above treeline, I pulled out my trusty face gator and was comfortable as could be while the other people on the chair were very unhappy campers:

Here’s the looker’s right of the bowl, which stretches on for quite a distance. The snow up there was skiable, but slightly wind-affected.

However, once below the treeline, the powder from yesterday (all untracked) was absolutely beautiful, so I lapped that chair for the next three hours:

Until it looked like this:

Then I headed over for another couple hours on Mary Jane, where the MJ chutes were in great shape:

I even did a few bump runs, despite my legs telling me to cease and desist:

In short: two excellent days at WP/MJ. It’s a big place with lots of variety, including a surprising amount of great tree skiing.
