A perfect spring day. We were on the lifts at 10:15 and temps warmed up to the lower 50s at the summit so needless to say, the corn was ripe. Skied until 3:45 and it was only slopped out in a few spots. Unfortunately, my pic of Stephen on the Slide 1 waterfall didn’t come out.

Like most ski areas, Whiteface’s last day is April 13. Can’t imagine they’re taking in much in the way of revenues right now. Most of the people there were from Quebec taking advantage of the bargain basement exchange rate.
I hadn’t skied there in five years and forgot how much vertical there is. They’ve already cut three or four new trails on the Lookout Mountain side and are putting in a HSQ this summer.

Another beautiful spring day in the ADKs with Harv, Patrick, and Stephen.
Whiteface doesn’t get much love in the ski forum world, but it’s a big-league hill with lots of interesting lines. And all of the 3,160 lift-served feet are usable except the very end. There are some nice glades, sweet bump fields, and so on, but mainly, it’s about letting it rip at top speed. I really loved Upper Mackenzie and Empire (we ignored the unnecessary rope), while Patrick and Harvey44 grooved on Blazer’s Bluff.
Fantastic to finally ski with two of the most hardcore ECers. If you’ve never skied with Patrick, “Le Barbu” is, to put it mildly, a really strong skier. You don’t mind eating his dust, because he’s so much fun to watch.
Spring skiing doesn’t get better than this, so I’m ready to say buh bye to my 2007-08 season.
Damn Canadians
Patrick on Lower Empire
Party Time at Boule’s/Mid-Mountain
