Whiteface Conditions

Looks nearly half closed right now (Wed 3/12).. 53/94 trails (I realize some of that is glades and otherwise non-snowmaking) and very little of the black terrain. Do they reduce how much they open mid-week?
Some of the runs closed today have snowmaking on them and are probably closed due to the thaw/freeze.
They usually close Little Whiteface chair during the week. Mountain Run chair shares the same towers and is half the length. It hasn't opened in a couple of years. For trails, weekend and weekday are irrelevant.
If you're planning later this month, the snow pack is about as favorable as you're going to get. That doesn't guarantee anything, obviously, just saying that things are set up for a good spring.

First real spring day at Whiteface, would of liked 10d cooler but Slides were Goles status so I’ll take it!

Glad I went on Saturday, excellent everywhere but you could see it was going fast in all the usual spots. Not much open today and no Wilmington tomorrow (or maybe the rest of the season). After yesterday I wouldn't be surprised if that lift is done til next year. Next couple days look like good ones, get it while you can.

It was really nice yesterday am, glad I got another good day in. I don't see Lookout chair opening again this year, LOB has totally melted out at the top, unless we get a BIG storm the slides are toast. Skyward is holding up nicely though, the Face is too but Wilderness is taking a hit on the upper left side, Victoria too. Fingers crossed for a potential storm early next week.

Whiteface skied really nice this weekend despite the thaw freeze situation…Saturday ended up being a nice corn snow day, and Sunday we showed up late on purpose after a cold start, sun was out and it was way better than expected (thought it would be a frozen mess but wasn’t). My kid skied the summit for the first time so he was stoked about that. Hoping for some snow to keep the season alive a bit longer.
