Every ten years the NOAA updates the data that are the basis for these maps we use on the NYSB national weather page:
These maps don't show temperature forecasts, they show how temperature forecasts compare to 30 year averages.
As of right now, the average data used is from the period 1981 - 2010.
Starting in May the data will be updated to use the period 1991 - 2020:

Generally the east looks wetter, the west looks drier and much of the country looks warmer vs the averages from 10 years ago.
