Boyne resorts had once again brought back a deal in Michigan if you have any season pass that works at a Michigan ski area you can get a $25 lift ticket. While I normally would have gone to Caberfae Peaks the $25 ticket and around another 30-40 min drive to ski somewhere different would be well worth it.
Megan and I left the Ann Arbor area around 5am and made the 4 hour drive. I was very hopeful that conditions would be pretty good after some rain and warm weather earlier in the week and seeing they made some snow on Thursday and Friday night the snow turned out to be a little firm with some softer snow on top. The high got to around 30 under blue skies and the snow did nothing but get better as the day went on.

Last year they installed a Dopplemyer 6 person high speed lift with heated seats and a bubble. I know it is overkill for a 500’ hill, but o have to say it is the nicest lift I have ever ridden.

For reasons beyond my control I wasn’t able to make it back east this year. Being able to ski at The Highlands in March with midwinter snow conditions helped a lot with making up for that.

Beautiful Ted! Probably see the bridge with those blue skies.
Are the center pole Riblets all gone?

Yes you could see the bridge, but I couldn’t get a good pic and Amy’s, Challenger, and North Peak lift are still the center pole Ribblet quads

When Stuart interviewed Stephen Kircher, CEO of Boyne Resorts, they talked about that 6-pack. It was a chicken-and-the egg situation. As Stephen thought, once there was a good lift over in that area there were many more people who went over there and would stay for a while. That took pressure off the other lifts during busy days.

Boyne Resorts learned a lot installing the D-line lifts at Big Sky and Sunday River.
