Ask anybody who’s done it for a season or more: working on a mountain can be one of the best ways to spend a winter. A $15 resort-wide minimum wage, affordable employee housing options, free skiing, resort discounts, and flexible schedules are all great perks, but getting to join a hardworking, like-minded community that’s dedicated to enjoying our endless outdoor playground makes working at Sugarbush unlike anywhere else. The Mad River Valley is an amazing place to grow and call home, and truly let’s you enjoy the best of what Vermont has to offer. If you’re considering heading to the mountains this winter, or you’re already here and looking for a fun and exciting new opportunity- Sugarbush is hiring! Head to the link below for more information about open roles. Make this your best winter yet.

Wet and mushy Saturday (it stopped raining around 11), and icey and fast today. They were able to blow snow today, so hopefully they can open Mt. Ellen on time.

I skied at Sugarbush today, although I didn’t ski much of Sugarbush today. A couple runs on general trails, ran the Ripsticks through some crud and bumps. I love the ski….more and more every day. Nothing they can’t do, well. But I digress. As one would expect, there was all manner of packed powder and scratchy bumps. Low snow season, rain a few days ago….who could tell. Almost everything was open, and much fun was being had by all!

I spent the majority of my day at Castlerock. Lift wasn’t spinning, but the Long Trail hike was open. Worth multiple laps. Some rocks, some thin cover, a few more base scratches but no base welds will be required.

Obligatory picture from the Church, skiable in a good year.

Really fun day, to think I almost bailed yesterday afternoon. I gotta get to VT more often…

Skiing at Sugarbush. Conditions are excellent. Yesterday was bluebird with wind and the groomed trails were packed powder. Today was snow (6") all day with big wind. Yesterday the bumps were icy in the zipper line but today they were filled in with snow and fun. The place is so empty we have not bothered with the woods. Sugarbush only grooms about 42/111 trails. Sugarbush continues to be one of my favorite east coast ski areas.

I skied there Friday for the first time. I only had one day so I stayed on Lincoln Peak side. Weather and conditions were absolutely perfect. Only took about 2 hours to jump to the top of my list of my personal favorite list. They had to practically kick me off the mountain at the end of the day I just couldn’t get enough of the place. It’s not as far north as I thought so was wondering why it rarely gets mentioned in here.

I spent the prior 4 days skiing Stowe and for me this place blew it away. That just based on what I like. I'm sure plenty of people would think i'm crazy for saying that.

well, at least post Vail, Stowe seems to have massive crowding issues.
