Our base Ikon passes were blacked out this past Saturday and Sunday, but my husband and I both had Monday off, so we headed out early Monday morning. The storm over the past weekend was sorely needed. Conditions were so much better than a week ago. We headed over to Lincoln Peak this time, and I think just about everything there is now open. Mt. Ellen still has some closed trails. Glades are still a bit questionable, but open, and we did see people poking in and out of the woods. We heard one of the lifties say they were going to try to spin the Castlerock lift this week, but the trails were already open if you wanted to hike up there.

The mountain was socked in at the summit and the light extremely flat. Conditions where such that you didn't see the bumps until you were on them. Luckily the snow was soft, a bit heavy, but not terribly so. It was the fun kind of "newborn" bumps you could just blast through without having to worry much whether you're hitting the lines just right.

Unfortunately we had some afternoon engagements so we were only able to ski for a few hours. Here are a couple more shots from Lower Jester:

It's been snowing pretty steadily up here all week, nice light blower snow, a few inches each day, so this coming weekend should be even better!

Glad to see you guys slaying it up there!

Thanks! Hopefully next winter we'll be able to ski with our NY friends again! And ski in NY! Believe it or not, I really miss Greek Peak. Of course I'd love to get back to Gore and Whiteface, too.

Oy, do I miss Sugar right now! I was making that my base mountain this year, before COVID ruined my plans. There's always next year. Glad the locals are enjoying it.
