Song Conditions

Went to Song yesterday and skiing was good on Bali Hai. Flat light was the worst thing but, hey, it’s the northeast. Triple chair was shut for a bit so they ran the double. It was ski onto every run. Met some nice boarders in the parking lot who were chilling & had chili cooking.

Skied Song today. Snow was very nice if ya like groomers. 2 trails open top to bottom. It was ski-on to lift. Chopsticks had untouched whales but a rope across it. Sun came out for a minute in the afternoon when we were apres parking lotting. Owner told us the beautiful new bar&grill will open soon. Legs are getting used to skiing again. Gonna try and use my first day on the infrequent skier card at Gore mid-week soon. Fun day.

Snowed all the time I was there. Picked up at least 4” in 3 hrs. Everything open but Chopsticks Black Diamond as the guns and hoses were present along with the orange barrier fence at the top. Busy weekday but waits were 30 seconds at most. It was ski on to lift initially. Realized once again need practice pow skiing. Good vibes from folks. New bar&grill still awaits opening, On the drive home noticed bare roads and only an inch or 2. Lake effect snow bands can be very specific. Have fun. There’s more than enough snow now and a lot has yet to see skis.

I really want to hit Song and Lab at some point this year
Bski, Should be great tomorrow. Today they didn’t run the diamond cutter lift named after splitting the steepest Black Diamond trails. I ski weekdays to let the other folks have at it on weekends. May go Monday to Lab. Song’s always closed non-Holiday Mondays.

Song looks nice today. Might go if I can work up the courage.

Skied Song 11-2:30 or so. 25F light wind. Cloudy but did see a whiter cloud a couple times. Ski on to lift. Whole place was open. Since Song’s not open Monday’s and closes 4 on Sunday ~4” fresh snow available. Snowed the whole time there. Lots of little kids, including me. Fun day.

Skied Song again 11-2:30, low 20sF, light wind, some sun and some clouds, spittin snow at times. Ski on to lift. A few inches of new, rapid transit is available, along with some bumps. Worked up a sweat the 1 run I made in the bumps. Great skiing conditions if that's important.
In other local news, they’ve yanked a couple of these monsters in the last month thru the ice on Otisco. https://www.syracuse.com/outdoors/2...e-45-34-inch-tiger-muskie-on-otisco-lake.html

Skied Song Friday 10-1:30. Good conditions on groomers with a couple inches of new on top. Busier weekday (Holiday) skiing with lots of rookies having fun. Spent most runs riding diamond cutter lift due there being a lift line at the other triple. New bar and grill is beautiful and affords a great view to watch folks come down Otto’s. Hopefully Lake Effect drops more fluff Saturday as non groomed could use some. The crusty stuff makes a weird low pitched sound when it breaks as ya crack into it. If knees had ears it would be easier to hear it compress and crack.
