Looking forward to a few uphill Indy laps after the holidaze

My wife and I needed to be in East Stroudsburg PA yesterday, less than an hour from our house, so armed with our Indy Passes, we stopped at Shawnee near the Delaware Water Gap for a couple hours of turns. A fair number of people were there for early Friday afternoon; however, the HSQ was ski-on and the trails spread everyone out.

We were reminded of what a great beginner's hill Shawnee is, with several mellow consistently-pitched ways down the 700 verts. It's supposed to pick up a foot during tomorrow's storm; however, with no natural snow lately, conditions were scratchy boilerplate. Still, we found two easy blues with nice loose snow on the left sides and ripped down those numerous times -- kinda like the skiing version of working out at the gym.

My wife was delighted that I got several pix showing how she's regaining her intermediate form after not skiing since the late 2010s:

Old-school tix with wix:

Hadn't seen one of these jeans/fleece coats in decades (I wore one proudly in high school):

We stopped in at this pleasant pub a few minutes away, where I'd been previously after playing this course:

Nice report and photos. Thanks for sharing. Great to hear that your wife is back skiing. For what it's worth, the technique I see in this picture is well beyond that of some skiers I know who consider themselves advance/expert skiers. Impressive!
