Well we’re over to ski by the big big Lake and we are at Porcupine and conditions are fast and firm and the views are stupendous.

I figured I’d have a quick lunch and hopefully the rope toe will open soon because I have a 350 mile drive back to the Mackinac bridge tonight seven hours or so

Excellent, this looks exactly like a road trip that I'd go on. What these ski areas lack in vertical, they compensate with old-school atmosphere.

Is there any chance you could post a map that shows the various stops, like this one from my recent visit? They only take a couple minutes to make.

James I’m quite a simpleton when it comes to doing that kind of map making but essentially just north from greater Grand Rapids Mi to the Mackinac bridge, west on M 2 to Iron Mountain,( Pine Mtn) continue west to Ski Brule, west on 2 past Ironwood to Duluth, up to Lutsen and reversed. From Porcupine east on 28 to Marquette, Munising and back down to 2 east.

I can't believe I never heard of this place. I'm certainly no midwest ski mountain expert, but 650 feet of vert has it up there with the tallest after Bohemia?

Looks cool:

Did you split the post in two because of pic limits?

Harv, Bohemia 900, Lutsen 825, Indianhead 638. Porkies 650

Telefest at Porcupine you would love. The Gogebic college does a good job here and Zion
