After reading the weather forecast for Sunday, I bailed on VT and headed to Plattekill. Temps were in the 20s when I arrived.
The conditions where they groomed were decent. The ungroomed trails were variable and scraped on the steeper sections. There was a 1/2 inch crust on the closed trails and in the woods.
Botton of closed Freefall - coated with crust
Top of groomed North Face - Bearpen in the distance
On Plunge
The trees at the top remained coated with ice all day
I was able to say hi to MC while he was sharing the joy of skiing with his student. They both were having fun.

This view and the many others are part of what makes Plattekill so special. I have been skiing at Plattekill for 35 years and it remains one of my favorites. The parking lots were full, the lodge was full (but not crowded) and there were no liftlines and the trails were empty. Plattekill continues to be a great weekend ski area.
