We were prepared for somewhat springlike conditions today but it ended up being really warm and Plattekill was at max capacity with cars parked 6/10 of a mile down the access road (Jason measured it). I don't think I've ever seen actual liftlines there, even on days that were busy:
Deep blue skies: conditions were nice and soft off the double but with the warm temps, it was heavy going in the woods. Once on the hill, people dispersed nicely -- it never felt remotely crowded:
Kneissl skis: you don't see those often on this side of the Atlantic:
Around 11 pm, we took our first and only run off the triple; it was getting sticky in spots:
By 1 pm, Jason -- who'd hurt his back at work earlier in the week then aggravated it in the bumps -- decided to call it a day. Time for a quick Mother's Milk stout in the busy bar and back on the road:
We were very glad for Laszlo to nail what must've been a big revenue day but aren't the crowds kinda what we go to Plattekill to avoid? Oh well, can't have it both ways.
