Pico Conditions

Pico opened for the season today with almost the whole mountain showing open, though I assume a lot of that was thin cover on natural snow (and only the main lifts running so the upper half of the lower mountain trails off to the side wouldn't have been accessible).

I knew about it bc they pushed it out through the Killington app -- the new ownership has put a decent amount of money into the place, including high-efficiency snowguns and a winch cat, and they seem to be trying to boost visitation. They've also talked about not changing the place too much, though. Only 5 trails today were groomed, so that's consistent with maintaining the character.

I bet it was awesome today. I've always loved Pico and am happy to see the money they've put in. Visitation may go up some but I'm sure it won't change things much.
