Pickle Ball is the New Snowboarding

That's hilarious. I drive by the new fancy Pickleball courts on my way to the underserviced dog park in our community recreation complex. Dog park is year-round daily use by many, Pickle is busy for six months. Annoying.
 
They are building courts like crazy in my town..All are packed. I play 3x a week...Don't knock it til ya try it..

I’ve played. As with most things, it’s largely about the company you keep.

I just found the parallel of skiers threatened by snowboarding’s explosive growth from 94-99 to be an apt comparison.
 
My condo association tennis courts largely went unused most of the year until they put down pickleball lines. Now, it sees use all weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and probably gets quite a bit of use when I am at work during the mid-week as well.

mea culpa. I was pretty skeptical about this trend (though not sure if I expressed it here) but I agreed to take some pickleball lessons with my wife. I am surprised by how much fun it was.
