I thought I'd post the rest of my pictures from my hike of the Peaked Mountain Pond Trail. I had more than I could fit in my blog post. It had been a long time since I'd done this hike, and it's a beauty. A short walk with lots of reward.
The day was calling for thunder in the late afternoon and Peaked is not a place you want to be in a thunderstorm. I was at the trailhead at 7am and back in the car just before noon.
Thirteenth Lake Trailhead
Balm of Gilead Mount and the Garnet Mine in the Mist
Trail around 13th Lake
Twin Pines Campsite
One of the Erractics on the Way
Peaked Mountain Brook
One of the Beaver Ponds

Older Beaver Work
Peaked Summit was Obscured in Clouds
View of the Pond from the Trail to the Summit
"The Cathedral"
Beautiful on the way up even without views.
The Cairns guided me.
Summit "View"
Getting down can be confusing if you haven't paid attention or looked back on your final approach to the top. I saw very few markers to show the way down. If there could only be one marker for the return, this was the one I'd choose..
Crucial Trail Marker
The Big Erratic in the Swamp
Peaked Brook Falls
Walking back around the Lake
