Duck has humored me well over the last few months with all my crazy waterfalls talk.
Possibly just to assure I'd stop talking about it, he accompanied me to OK Slip.
The end result was that we had a fine time in the woods this past Saturday.
We found the trail that goes into the woods to OK Slip Falls.
We walked until we came to a fork in the trail, and we took it.
On we traveled until we came to a sign. A few more pictures...
The sign seem to indicate the way to the Top of Falls:
We may have missed a trail intersection or maybe it was just a funky sign because we did not come to the top of the falls.
Instead we came to an incredible view spot. I'll call it the original:
We lingered for maybe 20 minutes. Then we followed what looked like the continuing trail. We came to another viewspot and then the trail started to drop, steeply. OK maybe it wasn't a trail.
Eventually we got to the stream. From there you could see back up to the "original" spot:
The Original Spot
When you first see the falls it doesn't seem to be 250 feet tall. But when you get closer, you believe it.
Duck at OK Slip Falls
Flow was extremely low. Still the spot is beautiful.
Getting back to the trail was a challenge. But the views up top were 1000% worth it.
Some creative route finding left us double dog tired when we got home.
One of my best non-ski adventures in a long time.
