The NY Ski Expo and Craft Brew Fest is scheduled for November 4-6 at the Albany Capital Center. I went years ago when it was in the Plaza - before the brew fest thing was included. Is this worth attending? It's been a couple of years since it was held. Are there deals on gear or passes or anything?

Back in the day that included a huge liquidation sale where you could get cheap skis, boots. goggles etc, but that was shut down years ago. Expect Alpin Haus and Potter Brothers and other local shops to be there with mostly clothes. It can be a good place to score kids' gear, and sometimes you can find some equipment deals.
The last time I was there they were giving away lift tickets, and I traded 2 Whiteface for Windham passes. That girl acted like she won the lottery. Lift ticket giveaways seem to be a thing of the past everywhere now.
There's still the craft beer thing, but the convention center is a government building, so the "no fun" rule applies.
I'll stop by just to run into old friends, but I have low expectations for scoring swag.

Use to score some great used gear back in the day. pre internet.

Only "ski expo" I know about is Snowbound Expo in Boston, Nov. 18-20. I'm going. Have been following the development of the new Expo since early this year.

Here's the website for Adirondack Sports & Northeast Ski Expo happening soon in Albany. Only overlap I noticed was Jay Peak, Pico, and Sugarbush. The vendors are local.

Snowbound Expo in Boston has Ikon, Seirus, and SIA as major sponsors. Invited speakers include Bode Miller, Dan Egan, Stuart Winchester, and Phil & Trish from SkiTalk. Several of the major brands will be present, as well as a few indie brands like Peak and Meier.
