New Year's Eve Food

Does having rolled ice cream after shopping at the local Asian market count? :)

Will be making a Chinese beef stew at my daughter's request. She's home for winter break.

Date night at home.

Daughter is leaving for an overnight (woohoo!) and we are cooking salmon on the grill, salad and red wine.

GOOD TIMES PEOPLE.

Leftovers from Christmas, a bit of Utica greens, meat balls, bread, squash, steak, chicken riggies and there must be other stuff.
No turkey for some damn reason.
Almost forgot,
beer.

just finished shrimp scampi over spaghetti and broccoli rabe..and some pinot grigio
putting on a movie in about half hour..sure in bed by 10 ish

Shrimp cocktail and chorizo over the fire. Cheers everyone. Happy New Beer!

Kaukauna cheese and crackers. In the dark ages, when I was young, we spent Christmas and New Years in Minnesota. I love cheese logs.

I also had a few bites of cheap caviar on tiny toasts with creme freche. But, after having the good stuff at my brother's house, it pretty much sucks.

What are Utica greens?
They’re like this.
I’ve never made em. Got a big pan, take out.
Sure like to eat ‘em.
They're good for ya and pack a bit of heat.

We had leftover chili and leftover lentil tacos with the fam we're up with. This morning it will be leftover pancakes and pannetone french toast.

Then, we hit the ski bowl per our mini tradition. We got stock on the chair with some technical difficulty at 745 pm (all good!).

So, we were in the Gondi at 8:30 am yesterday and finishing our last run at 8:15 pm last night. All in all a good new year's eve, especially when compared to last year.
