Multi-Issue isn’t a term I’ve heard before. Big one opening up in NY.

The Hudson Valley Greenway portion of the Empire State Trail actually runs through my neighborhood.

Anyone ever do any long trail trips, such as the Appalachian Trail? Who is going to tackle NYC to the Canadian Border on this one? At best some day maybe I’ll jump on my bike and go from my driveway (near Beacon) to New Paltz.

term looks like a typo to me , multi-use maybe? I've always wanted to do some bikepacking but have yet to do so. Friends of mine did a 2 day 150 ish miler last weekend an froze their asses off...

I think multi-use trail is the correct lingo, even though there are multi issues to be resolved. The original article may have had that wrong. Whatever you call it, I’m glad these trails are being realized. Additionally, I would love to see some bike lane action on some of our public roads. The crappy shoulders they give us are a joke.

Nope : the only long distance trail i ever did was the Cape Cod bike trail from Dennis to P town also took the spur to Chatham ?

Haven't been on it yet, but reminded me that NC has a trail that goes from the Appalachian Mountains on the west side of NC (TN border) all the way to the farthest reaches of the coast. It's called the Mountains-to-Sea Trail and is 1175 miles long. Some of the sections are on roads to connect trail segments.

Hiked from Springer Mountain Ga. to Roanoke Va. on the AT years ago. ~2 Months, this time of year.

The AT sounds kind of tough. Lots of straight ups and straight downs from what I hear and offaly crowded with trail hippies.

I’d like to do portions of the PCT but I camp so much for work that I don’t really back pack anymore.

For a while I fantasized about through hiking until I watched wanderlusts YouTube video of the CDT where she was using livestock tanks for drinking water. That shut down my dreams real quick!

Yup. About the up and down in Ga and Tenn. Blue ridge got easier but too hot in early July so stopped. Might try coming this way from Katahdin in Maine sometime. Not many folks except for the Smokies. Started in the spring of 77.
