Did any other CNYers watch the Magic Toy Shop as a kid? The last living cast member, Socrates Sampson (he played Eddie Flum Num), died this week at age 94. I remember watching him (after Captain Kangaroo) alongside “The Play Lady” Jean Dougherty -- who produced all 6,200 (!) episodes between 1955 and 1982 -- and everyone's favorite, Mr. Trolley.
According to Facebook comments, he lived a couple minutes from where I grew up in Camillus/west of Syracuse and everyone loved him.
