My first trip to Charlevoix, north of Quebec City, started out promising with a big dump of snow five days before arriving; however, on the drive north, temps shot up into the low 50s accompanied by torrential rain, and topped off with a hard overnight freeze in the single digits. I headquartered in the cute, artsy town of Baie St. Paul:
My lodging was a beautiful B&B, le Cap aux Corbeaux:
Which overlooks the deepest channel of the St. Lawrence River. The Le Massif ski area is the far peak in the background:
The next morning, a room with a view:
Dining area::
Conditions at Le Massif were, to put it mildly, hard and fast; however, the vistas didn't disappoint:
