iPhone Photos Rotated?

I have had issues on the old forum and now the new forum when posting from iPhone. The photos show up rotated depending on how the phone was held when taking the photos, it can impact the rotation when uploading. They appear right side up in your photo stream, but I guess if the original photo was taken with phone sideways then the actual photo is sideways in reality and posts that way.
Current workaround is to edit the photo on the phone and rotate it around and back and save it then post.

Would be nice if it uploaded the same way it appears in iPhone photo album. Not sure if it’s an iPhone issue or a general mobile device issue.

Mike, thanks for posting this. I changed the title of your post because, while it's a more narrow topic, it will affect a lot of people.

Yes XenForo (XF) the new forum software does this, as did Nabble, this difference is that XF is supported by a legit team that actually looks for solutions.

Indeed this is an iPhone "problem."

I did some quick research in the XF support forum and it looks like there is a server side solution that could compensate for this iPhone issue.

I don't know squat about servers, but I'm paying a guy to help with this stuff and I reached out to him. I will let you know if we come to a solution.

Obviously we are all on the go and want to take pictures without thinking that much. For now one way to fix it in the short run is to know what is the top of your phone, and shoot accordingly.

Edit the size of the photo you want to post.. Just change the size fractionally and save. Then post

I appreciate the input from any iPhoners.

Easiest is when it just works. Any other easy solution is to buy a droid.

The best method is the system adapts to the humans. Hoping to figure that out.

Ok thanks - yes the best thing is to understand the phone needs to be held in a certain orientation...but unfortunately that doesn’t do any good for photos already taken...No big deal to manually rotate for one photo but this can be annoying for a full trip report.

I'm a droid guy but iPhones seem to accommodate the human condition better in many ways. But not this way. Or cost haha.
