I know, this mountain is already under construction. The locals I spoke to are all for it, as it will bring in more skiers. All those bells and whistles are a turnoff for me though. Updating some of the older lifts will ruin some of the better terrain here as well, as they will flood them with novice skiers who generally avoid them today. I'm glad I got here before that happened.

We loved that lift and area of the mountain when we were out there a few years ago. My daughter called it "Steamboat's version of the Dark Side".

1. View from my condo all week. It was bluebird and cold most of the week.
2 . Tapping Buddy saved my arse a few times in the chutes.
3. Strawberry hot springs. Yes, I swam in the cold pool. It was frigid.
4. BAR-UE!
5. Some trees off her. I preferred the trees on the south end to the Closets.
6. Strings Music Festival. A beautiful venue at the base of the mountain. The acoustics are fantastic, and they book some good bands. We saw up and comer Jamestown Revival.
